Welcome to Grasses of the Great Basin and Intermontane West

This is a blog where I am going to share my decades of searching for, and trying to identify and study grasses and grass-like plants of the Great Basin and Intermontane Western U.S. I try to follow taxonomic shifts, and I'll discuss my disagreements with some name changes and the splitting and lumping of species over the years.

I'll be updating this blog with new observations when I have time.

A big reason for blogging about grasslands here is so I can place a lot of my photos, notes, specimens, sketches, identifications and cheat-sheets for keying out grasses and other plants online for easy access. Having all this material in one place online will be a helpful;pful resource for this complex and interesting topic.

We can always learn more about the floras and vegetation types of this large area, which often has been little studied.
